Yes. CloudPrompt is free: unlimited prompts, folders and tags, sync and automatic backups to your own Google Drive, import and export, and up to 5 templates. Optional paid features may be added later.
No separate CloudPrompt account. Google Drive connection is used for storage + sync.
Highlight any text on any webpage, right-click, and choose Save to CloudPrompt. A save dialog appears with the title, content preview, and an auto-detected category — click save and it's in your library.
The keyboard shortcut opens your library on any page so you can search and copy a prompt. Right-click save does the opposite: it saves text you've selected on a page as a new prompt.
When you open CloudPrompt on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Copilot, it automatically shows your most relevant prompts for that platform first — pinned prompts, then platform matches, then everything else. Toggle it in Settings → Smart Features.
Google Drive & sync
Yes. CloudPrompt keeps a copy of your prompts on your device, so you can open and copy them offline.
Go to Settings → Backup & Restore → Export. You can download all your prompts as JSON or CSV anytime.
Privacy & permissions
Your prompts are stored in your personal Google Drive, in a folder called 'CloudPrompt'. Nothing is stored on CloudPrompt servers.
CloudPrompt asks for: Google sign-in and Drive access limited to the files it creates (the drive.file scope), to store your prompts file and its backups; local storage, for a copy of your library and your settings; tabs, to handle Google sign-in on Edge and Comet and to read the active tab's address so prompts for that AI site show first; the right-click menu, for Save to CloudPrompt; and access to all sites, so the keyboard shortcut and right-click save work on any page. CloudPrompt does not track your browsing or send your data to CloudPrompt servers.
Browsers & shortcuts
Absolutely! CloudPrompt works on any website. Press Ctrl+Shift+Y anywhere to open your library, click a prompt to copy it, and paste it into any AI tool. Microsoft Edge reserves this shortcut; choose another, such as Ctrl+Shift+X. CloudPrompt shows you how.
Yes! CloudPrompt works on Microsoft Edge and Comet by Perplexity, in addition to Google Chrome. Install it from the Chrome Web Store — both browsers support Chrome extensions. Sign-in opens a Google tab that closes automatically when done. If you run into trouble, check that pop-ups are not blocked and try again.
