Welcome to CloudPrompt

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CloudPrompt, a Chrome browser extension and related website (cloudprompt.app) operated by CloudPrompt ("we," "us," or "our").

By installing or using CloudPrompt, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

💡 Plain English: These are the rules for using CloudPrompt. By using it, you agree to follow them.

1. What CloudPrompt Does

CloudPrompt is a free browser extension that helps you:

  • Save and organize AI prompts
  • Access your prompts quickly via keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Y)
  • Sync prompts to your personal Google Drive
  • Create templates with variable placeholders

Important: CloudPrompt stores your data in YOUR Google Drive account. We do not have access to your prompts or data.

2. Who Can Use CloudPrompt

To use CloudPrompt, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country to use online services)
  • Have a valid Google account for sync features
  • Use a supported browser (Chrome or Chromium-based browsers)
  • Agree to these Terms

3. Your Account & Data

3.1 Google Account

CloudPrompt uses Google OAuth to connect to your Google Drive. When you connect:

  • We only request access to files WE create (drive.file scope)
  • We cannot see, access, or modify your other Google Drive files
  • You can disconnect at any time from Settings

3.2 Your Data Belongs to You

  • All prompts you create are stored in YOUR Google Drive
  • We do not store your prompts on our servers
  • We do not have access to read your prompts
  • You can export or delete your data at any time
  • If you uninstall CloudPrompt, your data remains in your Google Drive

3.3 Data Security

  • Your data is protected by Google Drive's security
  • We use secure OAuth 2.0 authentication
  • We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data
  • Local caching is stored in your browser only

💡 Plain English: Your prompts are yours. We store them in YOUR Google Drive, and we literally cannot see them.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 You Agree To:

  • Use CloudPrompt for lawful purposes only
  • Not attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service
  • Not use CloudPrompt to store illegal content
  • Not redistribute or resell CloudPrompt
  • Respect other users if we add collaborative features in the future

4.2 You Agree NOT To:

  • Use automated systems to abuse the service
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Use CloudPrompt to harass, spam, or harm others
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfere with the proper operation of the service

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Property

  • CloudPrompt's code, design, and branding are owned by us
  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software without permission
  • Our trademarks and logos may not be used without permission

5.2 Your Property

  • You retain all rights to the prompts and content you create
  • By using CloudPrompt, you do NOT grant us any rights to your content
  • We will never use your prompts for any purpose (we can't even see them)

6. Free Service & Future Features

6.1 Current Free Tier

CloudPrompt is currently free to use with the following features:

  • Unlimited prompt storage (limited by your Google Drive space)
  • Basic template system (5 templates, 5 variables each)
  • Pin up to 3 prompts
  • Full import/export functionality

6.2 Future Premium Features

We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do:

  • The core free features will remain free
  • Premium features will be clearly marked
  • You will never be charged without explicit consent
  • We will provide advance notice of any changes

6.3 No Guarantees

As a free service:

  • We provide CloudPrompt "as is"
  • We do not guarantee 100% uptime or availability
  • Features may change or be discontinued with reasonable notice

7. Third-Party Services

7.1 Google Services

CloudPrompt integrates with:

  • Google OAuth: For authentication
  • Google Drive API: For data storage

Your use of Google services is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for Google's services.

7.2 Chrome Web Store

CloudPrompt is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, which has its own terms and policies.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 No Warranties

CloudPrompt is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Accuracy or reliability of any content

8.2 Limitation of Damages

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
  • Damages exceeding the amount you paid us (which is $0 for free users)

8.3 Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Backing up your important data
  • Using CloudPrompt appropriately
  • Maintaining the security of your Google account

💡 Plain English: CloudPrompt is free, and we do our best, but we can't guarantee perfection. Please back up important data.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless CloudPrompt and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

10. Changes to Terms

10.1 Updates

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

  • We will update the "Last Updated" date
  • For significant changes, we will notify you via the extension or email
  • Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms

10.2 Your Right to Stop Using

If you don't agree with updated Terms, you can:

  • Stop using CloudPrompt
  • Uninstall the extension
  • Export your data first (Settings → Backup & Restore → Export)

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You can stop using CloudPrompt at any time by:

  • Uninstalling the extension
  • Disconnecting your Google Drive from Settings
  • Your data remains in your Google Drive after uninstalling

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)
  • Required by law

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to try to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at support@cloudprompt.app. We'll try to resolve it within 30 days.

12.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12.3 Jurisdiction

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

13. General Provisions

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CloudPrompt.

13.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

13.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.

13.4 Assignment

We may assign our rights under these Terms. You may not assign yours without our consent.
