Yes. CloudPrompt is free: unlimited prompts, folders and tags, sync and automatic backups to your own Google Drive, import and export, and up to 5 templates. Optional paid features may be added later.

Q: Where is my data stored?

In your Google Drive, in a file called CloudPrompt/prompts.json. Your prompts go to your own Google Drive, and nothing is stored on CloudPrompt servers. Your data stays private and under your control. You can delete the file from Drive at any time to remove everything.

Q: Can I use it on Edge or Comet?

Yes. CloudPrompt officially supports Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Comet by Perplexity. Install CloudPrompt from the Chrome Web Store. On Edge and Comet, sign-in works slightly differently: a Google sign-in tab opens, you complete the flow, and the tab closes automatically.

Q: How is CloudPrompt different from community prompt libraries?

Community prompt libraries share prompts that other people have written. CloudPrompt is a personal library for your own prompts: save them with a right-click, organize them with folders and tags, and find them with context-aware sorting on any AI tool or website. Your prompts live in your own Google Drive, and nothing is stored on CloudPrompt servers.

Permissions, explained

CloudPrompt asks for: Google sign-in and Drive access limited to the files it creates (the drive.file scope), to store your prompts file and its backups; local storage, for a copy of your library and your settings; tabs, to handle Google sign-in on Edge and Comet and to read the active tab's address so prompts for that AI site show first; the right-click menu, for Save to CloudPrompt; and access to all sites, so the keyboard shortcut and right-click save work on any page. CloudPrompt does not track your browsing or send your data to CloudPrompt servers.
